My English competece in 2009

For choosing my best oral evidnce I have some problems becase I think the majority are so good. These last podcasts I choose two. The frist is the one that talks about Palestina and Israel. And the second is the one that talks about Pepe Bottle and Napo Bonaparte. I think that there are really serious and funny.
I think that in the blog all the entries are good. But I think that those that talks about sport, specially basketball, are better than the others.
The podcasts: http://ariii9110portfolio.blogspot.com/2009/04/podcast.html
http://ariii9110portfolio.blogspot.com/2009/01/israel-vs-palestina.html
The written evidences: http://ariadna11.blogspot.com/2009/05/final-four-berlin-2009.html
http://ariadna11.blogspot.com/2009/03/barca-and-tau-in-quarters-of-euroleague.html

I choose these written evidences because I know the sports novelties very well so I can explain more things about that than another person. And I choose these podcasts because I like them a lot, one because it talks about a very important war in the world, and in the second because I think it's really funny.
I think that all of this works are really good because I did them with all I learn in the classes. I use imagination, new words and expressions, fluency in the recorders and work in group.

My English 2007-2009

It's true that I learn English a lot: readings, listening, writings etc.
In my last descrpition to the teacher I explain more things about me and about what I'm doing these year. The first one was short and very easy to understand.
Comparing my first oral presentation with the last one, I have to say that there are a lot of difference. Now the orals have more maturity and more length. The fluency has improved a lot, I'm not so much nervous like before. Definitively, I talk with more calm and better.
I have to say that this year is the most intensive one. Because of that, it's in which I learnt more.
I know that for me learning English is difficult but the oral presentations I done these two years of batxillerat I learn a lot for pass the selectivitat and for my life.

Writing

French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry said that "the best things people have made are all things that bring people together". Discuss this statement and say what are your mind, the best things people have made. Would you say that Internet make our social life richer or poorer?

At first, I have to say that Saint-Exupéry is right. Some of the things that we invented are for bring people together. Most of them but not all.
For example, the aireplane I agree with him. It's an invention which bring people together because it allows you going to everywhere you want. It's a very useful thing.
Also the telephone is very important for everybody. It brings all together, because it allows you talking with you family or your friends everywhere you are.
But, in the other hand I think that there are other inventions which are less useful. For example: Internet. I agree that Internet is useful to know people from around the world. It's true that you can find information in the net but it isn't the same that being there. The airplane can bring you there, Internet only nears you in that place.
In conclusion, I have to recognizing that most of the inventions of humans are useful, but some more than the other.

News 3: The swine flue

The swine flue is spreading around the world. This flue is made of three other different flues: the first one belongs to humans, the second one to the pigs and the third one to the chikens. These kind of flues are mixed inside the pigs. Everybody becomes infected for respiratory way, so we have to take a mask.
The flue begins in Mèxic and iy spread first in USA, where are 85 cases , in New Zeland, where are 4 cases, and in Canada, where are 85 cases.
Right now, in Spain there are 40 cases, but no one have died because of swine flue. The first one appeared in Bilbao and two more in Girona.
But also there are some other countries around the world which are infected people: Germany, Israel, UK, France, Austria, Denmark, Colombia, Hong Kong and others.
I think that all countries have to take measures for preventing the flue. Only there was deaths in Mèxic and USA, but everybody is worried about this flue.

Dear Daisy,
I have to talk to you about some issues. You don't pick up the phone so that's why I'm writting to you this letter.
At first, I have to say that I have other friends a part from you. I know that we had a very good friendship, but now I can't stand it. I spent all my time with you, and my boyfriend is angry with me and also with you. You are a very good person, but it's unbearable.
I want you to continue being my friend, because I know you since we were children, and I love you so much. We can be friends, but no like now. I want to spend my time also with Charles, because I love him too.
We can talk on the phone but not for two hours like before, I have other things to do like studying.
I'm sure you will understand what I mean with his letter, if not so we can continue being friends, but not with the same confidence.
Surely you'll understand because you know what our friendship represents to me.
I love you so much.

A letter to my friend about a concert

Kelly Taylor
London Street, 2078
Manchester
12th october 2009

Hello Kate!
How are you? I'm writing to you this letter to talk about Lax'n'busto. As you know, I went to their concert in Barcelona, so I want to explain to you how I feel there.
I arrived too early because I knew that there would be a lot of people doing queue. I buy the entry and I have been waiting for four hours, more or less. It was horrible, but you've already known what I can do for this group.
The waiting was worthwhile, because it was very huge, and fantastic. After one more hour, the establishment was plenum of people. I met known people: Mark and Lisa, and Charles.
The sound was really good, and the stage too.
And, the concert begins everybody also begin to shout. The majority of the fans knew all the songs. Others showed their banners. The atmospher was spectacular.
It has been one of the best concerts I've gone.
If you have the opportunity to go to one of their concets, do it. Surely you'll like it a lot.
Now it's time to say goodbye. See you early!

Traduction of a song

I'm just a kid_SIMPLE PLAN

I woke up it was 7
I waited till 11
to figure out that no one would call
I think I got a lot of friends but I don't hear from them
What's another night all alone?
When your spending everyday on your own
And here it goes

[Chorus:]
I'm just a kid and life is a nightmare
I'm just a kid, I know that its not fair
Nobody cares cause I'm alone and the world is
Having more fun than me
Tonight...

And maybe when the night is dead, I'll crawl into my bed
Staring at these 4 walls again
I'll try to think about the last time, I had a good time
Everyone's got somewhere to go
And they're gonna leave me here on my own and here it goes

I'm just a kid and life is a nightmare
I'm just a kid, I know that its not fair
Nobody cares, cause I'm alone and the world is
Having more fun than me

What the hell is wrong with me?
Don't fit in with anybody
How did this happen to me?
Wide awake I'm bored and I can't fall asleep
And every night is the worst night ever

I'm just a kid [repeat x5]

I'm just a kid and life is a nightmare
I'm just a kid, I know that its not fair
Nobody cares, cause I'm alone and the world is
Nobody wants to be alone in the world.

I'm all alone tonight
Nobody cares tonight
Cause I'm just a kid tonight

TRADUCTION

fitant aquestes quatre parets altre cop
Intentaré pensar en aquell temps passat, era un bon temps
Tothom té un lloc on anar

Quan em desperto sóc avorrit i no em puc adormir

This is the result of the final match. The Greek team had alreaday won two other matches. Because of that, they will go to Berlin to play the Final Four. This, it was a match very difficult, the scoreboard was ajusted all the time. And finally, the Greeks ended up imposing.

Montepaski 84 - Panathinaikos 91
An other Greek team won yesterday. They also will go to Berlin, next to Olympiakos, CSKA and TAU or Berça. Panathinaikos won by 84-91. It was a very difficult match but the Greeks play better than italians players, and because of that they won.

Almost a quarter of a milion children in Catalonia are living in poverty, a recent study reports. Study says that 1,3 million people are living below the poverty line. Of that number,240,000, are young people under the age of 16. This estadistic put Spain on the bottom of the list of the 15 original members of the European Union. A lot of immigrants that come from outside the E.U. are living in poverty.
The study is of the director Carme Gómez-Granell said taht:"Spain has made an effort to improve the situation of the elderly".
In conclusion, we have to reduce this numbers,

Baby's dead

A man found yesterday a babay's dead body next to a bin in Madrid. The baby still had the umbilical cord. The police went there five minuts later, but the man said when he found the body, it was already "purple" and he also said that the baby was into a plastic bag.

It breaks the Article 3 of the Declaration of Human Rights that says that everybody has de right of life, liberty and security of person.

Israel vs. Palestina

ISRAEL vs. PALESTINA

tv host: Hello everybody !!!! :):):)
In Middle East there are problems, and one of the most importants is the war between Israel and Paslestina. Today, here, tere is an israelian who will explain us what happen and how she defend her religion and her land. Hello Sarah!
Sarah: Hello Tim! Yes, it's true, we have a lot of problems but I think we are right. All our lives we had been discriminated and mistreated. Hitler and nazis began a genocide and the survivors had no place to go. I don't think that Israel has the militar power to kick the palestinans out of our land.
Tim: Ok. This is an israelians opinion about this issue. Now, we'll gonna hear a palestinian one!
Shiva: Hello Tim! Yes that's true, but we have the same problems that they have. Genocide is alsi familiar for us. Anyway, I undestand that you are angry that we are in Jerusalem too. But for both it represents our country, our promissed land and religious influences both sides. Both see Jerusalem like a holy place and everyone wants to defend what's for them . But I am sure that there us an alternative to resche the conflict.
Sarah: I agree with you that there's an alternative. But I think that Jewish people don't have any other place to go. We went to Europe and they killed all that they could. And because of that we decided to return to our promissed land and now palestinians wants to kich us out. And they have a lot of islamic countries to go, whereas we can't leave elsewhere.
Shiva: Yes that's true, but we were raced. We were born here it's also ower home!
Sarah: I do eather. But you also have to understand us. Yet you believe in the Coran so do we in the Torah. And it says that Yahvé promissed us a land and that was Jerusalem, and it still is.
Shiva: But Mahoma, when he ran away from Mecca he also talked about this our Jerusalem. Mecca is a place where we go for devotion, but Jerusalem is our home, a holy place for us eather.
Sarah: I know what you mean, of course. And you say it now, you have two or more holy places to go and we only have Jerusalem:our place and the one of our ancestores.
Shiva: But being your holy country and our's too. Don't you think it's possbile to live together in peace there? Respecting each other beliefs. In the end, Torah, Coran and Bible talk and predicts about respecting each other.
Sarah: I think that we can't live together in the same place. This isn't the solution for the problem. But I'm sure that we can find a solution but it will be really difficult because we are fighting for our believe, and the religious fights are very difficult to resolve.
Tim: And now the time is over. That was a really interesting discussion. Next week we'll continue . . .
